Biocircularcities at “Circular Economy – the Number One Priority for the European Green Deal” conference

The Biocircularcities project joined the international conference “Circular Economy – the Number One Priority for the European Green Deal” that took place on 19-21 September in Novi Sad (Serbia). This event, organised in the framework of the EU-funded project CIRECON, gathered physically 32 participants and 30 additional ones online; not only from Europe but also from Africa and the US.

Georgi Simeonov, from REAP (Regional Energy Agency of Pazardjik), presented the project on 21 September during a session dedicated to circular economy and society. He detailed the project consortium, the main objectives, as well as explained key activities undertaken by the consortium, and lessons learnt so far during the first year of the project. He also highlighted the Living Labs activity in the three pilot regions and stakeholder participation in them. The topic created interest among the participants, because it was explained that the three pilots have totally different scenarios and waste management chains which are being studied.
