The high-level conference “The Bioeconomy – Enabling the European Green Deal in Challenging Times” took place on 6 and 7 October at the Charlemagne Building in Brussels.
The results of the EU Bioeconomy Strategy Progress Report adopted in June 2022 were presented, as well as a number of bioeconomy success stories from EU research and innovation, and evidence of successful implementation of the EU Bioeconomy Strategy. How to reconcile the increasing demand for biomass for energy and industry with increasing climate and biodiversity targets was also discussed. 1700 participants from all over the world followed the event (most of them online). Biocircularcities was represented on site and was able to network with other European projects and research institutions.
